Michael Fobian
Michael Fobian, born and raised in Toms River, New Jersey, took his first dance class at 5 years old and has had a passion for the performing arts ever since. He attended college at James Madison University, where he received his BA in Musical Theatre. While at JMU, Michael studied dance under Jacob Brent (Cats), Nancy Anderson (Sunset Boulevard), Suzanne Miller-Corso (A Chorus Line), and Julia Vessey (Dairakudakan). He also received dance training at the Open Jar Institute in Manhattan, working under Broadway talents such as James Gray (Young Frankenstein, Bullets Over Broadway) and Timothy Hughes (Hadestown, Sweeney Todd).
In his professional career, Michael has had the honor of doing regional productions of Mary Poppins and Mamma Mia! at the Prizery Theater in South Boston, VA. There, he worked under the direction and choreography of Tyler McKenzie (Hamilton). Additionally, he has been working as the choreographer at the Holy Cross Theater Group in Toms River since 2021. With HCTG, he choreographed two variety shows, Seussical, and most recently, Footloose.
