Stephen Everson

Ballet Instructor

Stephen Everson is a professional ballet dancer and teacher. As a ballet teacher Stephen has worked on staff with numerous dance schools in and around Chicago, Fort Wayne, and Philadelphia over the past 5 years. With a Vaganova and Balanchine background, as well as familiarity with the Ceccheti style, Stephen brings a well rounded approach to classical ballet training.

Stephen is originally from Toledo, OH, and discovered his love for dance in 2009 at the age of 12. He began his formal ballet training at Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts in 2016 and later continued at Project Ballet. While training, Stephen had the opportunity to attend the Royal Danish Summer School in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he studied under Fosse legends Ann Reinking and Dana Moore.

In 2018, Stephen joined Ballet 5:8's professional company as a trainee where he toured and performing across the country. In 2019, he transitioned to working as a freelance artist, taking on roles such as Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, and the Cavalier in The Nutcracker. He also collaborated with Charleston Ballet Theatre as a guest artist.

In 2021, Stephen joined First State Ballet Theatre in Wilmington, Delaware. His repertoire with First State Ballet Theatre includes, Dracula in Victor Plotkinov’s Dracula, Fantasy to Dvorak, classic ballets such as Giselle, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, as well as excerpts from Raymonda and La Bayadere. He has also performed in original works by choreographers Zachary Kapuluck, Blake Krapels, Maeghan McHale and others.

Stephen is currently dancing with First State Ballet Theatre and is looking forward to sharing his love and appreciation of dance with the students at Fierce Dance Academy.
