Brittany Zelano

Instructor

Brittany Zelano is a full time Tap, HipHop, and preschool dance instructor as well as a competitive team choreographer. Her work has been consistently recognized and featured by the Industry Dance Awards. Today, Brittany is responsible for training dancers of various ages, genders, and ability levels in both a recreational and competitive setting and for teaching her students to embrace what makes them different.

Brittany’s passion for teaching and choreographing ignited through her education at Cab Calloway School of the Arts where she studied dance and composition/choreography. After graduating from Cab Calloway, She continued on in her education at the University of Delaware, where she graduated with degrees in Psychology, Human Services, and Women and Gender Studies. Currently, Brittany is pursuing her Master’s Degree at West Chester University.​

Brittany’s students have been continuously recognized for their outstanding talent, passion, training, and performance quality by some of the biggest names in the dance industry. Many of

her students have gone on to receive full paid scholarships, opportunities to perform alongside highly sought after dancers and choreographers, and the opportunity to assist master teachers

such as Fik-shun, Megz Alfonso, and Comfort Fedoke in convention classes across the country.

Brittany’s HipHop students have been accepted into programs such as Broadway Dance Center’s Pre-Professional Program, and various Commercial Dance programs at Universities across the country. Brittany has received stand-out awards for her choreography including awards such as most innovative choreography, Judges Choice, numerous regional and national title holders, having nationally ranked dances including multiple first overall highest scoring numbers, Industry Dance Awards Best of Tap nomination in 2018, and Industry Dance Awards People’s Choice nomination in 2019. Most recently, her choreography had a clean sweep of the overall mini division for every regional and national competition during the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 competitive seasons.

 

As a teacher, Brittany also prides herself on creating some of the strongest male dancers in the industry. Her male students have been recognized for their outstanding strength, work ethic, and ability levels across the country. Brittany has produced a multitude of undefeated male soloists who have trained under her. As both a teacher and choreographer Brittany has been continuously and consistently praised at competitions across the country for her age appropriateness in music, costume, and choreography choices.

 

She strongly believes in advocating for and protecting the innocence of young children in dance. Miss Brittany hopes to teach her students more than just dance. Throughout her time with her students she hopes to teach them to love themselves, accept themselves as they are, and give them the tools necessary to achieve success in all areas of their lives.
